New soccer channel debuts on Dish, DirecTV and FiOS

If you’re a soccer fan than this channel is for you, but it’s going to cost you. Fox Soccer Plus debuts today on Dishnetwork, DirectTV, and Verizon FiOS.

The new channel is part of Fox Soccer channel and replaces the Setanta Sports

The new Fox channel features at least 600 exclusive matches, including the Carling Cup, England’s FA Cup and the Coco-Cola Championship. It will also include some rugby matches.

Comcast add’s remote DVR functionality to its iphone app. This new feature is only compatible with the new interactive guide (www.comcast.net/newguide), which has only been rolled out to 3.1 million customers. Comcast customers must also subscribe to their high speed internet service to be able to program your DVR remotely.

First 3-D TV sets go on sale next month is the US

Sears.com began taking orders yesterday on its website for the new state of the art 3D TV’s. 3-D TV’s are set to take off like HDTV’s did 5 years ago.

Sears is selling two models, a 46-inch set for $2,599 and a 55-inch one priced at $3,299. They are being made by Samsung.

In order to get the full 3D experience, viewers must wear 3D glasses. Will 3D glasses be included with the purchase?

Cablevision developing new PC-To-TV Service

Cablevision is developing a new service that will allow subscribers to stream data from their PC to their TV over the internet-all without having to connect your PC to your TV.

Cablevision will offer software for PCs that streams your live computer screen-photo shows, youtube videos, internet browsing, etc- to your cable box over a special channel that each household will have access to.

They plan to trial this product in June.

Make calls to Haiti for free if you’re a Time Warner digital phone customer

Time Warner Cable phone customers can call Haiti for free until the end of the this month. All calls to landlines and cell phones are included, but calls to operators and directory assistance will be charged as normal.

Customers do not need to make any changes to their accounts to take advantage of the free calls. All calls from Jan 12 to Jan 22nd will credited on your account. All calls from Jan 22nd to Feb 28th will be at no charge.

HBO Go officially launches today, after being in beta testing for some time now. HBO Go allows you to stream over 600 hours of HBO programming, you can watch movies like Role Model, Tropic Thunder, and even series like Big Love. In order to watch these shows online you MUST be a HBO subscriber and it MUST be with Comcast or Verizon FiOS. So if your a Comcast or FiOS customer and dont have HBO, you’ll need to take on additional $20 bucks a month to view these programs online.
